Outdoor living space that is a unique extension of the home that provides a destination garden tucked within existing mature trees. The design combines organic geometry with formal geometry in a way that creates order in an otherwise natural landscape. An overhead trellis provides a canopy. At the center of the spoke is an outdoor fire pit. A water feature is integrated into the layout of the design. Vehicular parking is also considered in the layout as itrelates to the home. An extension of the deck provides an area for a hot tub for year round enjoyment of the outdoors. The design intent of this site is to provide connection to the natural landscape in a functional and efficient way.

The landscape created here utilizes found-art in the form of a grinding stone that has been transformed into a water feature. The organic quality of the landscape is featured in the layout of the stone paving in an irregular pattern. Native, shade-tolerant plantings are featured in a way that provides seasonal interest and habitat for pollinators. The landscape provides a bridge between a historic portion of the home with a more modern section of the home.

The landscape shown here is an expansive terrace situated on a hillside with majestic views of the valley beyond. The hardscape allows for a range of gathering events and provides ample seating for a range of guests. The landscape was intentionally integrated into the hillside to create functional uses including an outdoor kitchen, seating areas, seatwalls. The rich stone materials provide a sense of long lasting legacy.
